OUR VISION

To lead in the establishment, development and improvement of community-based libraries in the country.

OUR MISSION

To make children appreciate the value of reading;

To make teachers, parents and community members partners in promoting reading in children;

To be a model community library that can be replicated in other areas and

To make a community of readers

The logo is a tree that represents the goal of the program which is to produce a functionally literate individual. The tree consists of two individuals that represent the main proponents of the project, Eduk Inc. and NACCL; and a book that embodies the different reading programs shared among community members.

TUTORIALS for children with reading difficulties (Monday to Thursday)

STORYTELLING SESSION for children (every Friday)

CULMINATING ACTIVITY with the following themes:

Mahuli Taya! - Sports

Kulayan Ang Mundo - Environment

Hataw Na! - Arts

Hala Bira - Culture

Sabi Ni Lola - History/Heroes(monthly)

RESOURCE CENTER for teachers and children (Monday to Friday)

TRAININGS in conducting reading tutorials/ storytelling and managing a community library forteachers, volunteers and community members (Quarterly)

THE PEOPLE

Former volunteers of Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, a volunteer corps of the University of the Philippines

Alumni, faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students of the University of the Philippines

Volunteers bonded by a common belief that every one has potentials;

aspires to be a better individual; and can contribute to the success of the society.
